Off Script

Off Script is a narrative puzzle prototype developed by a four-person team during the 2026 USYD Engineering Game Jam.

The theme was “Flip The Script.” We interpreted the theme by allowing players to change how the story of Snow White unfolds, without directly controlling the characters.

Players combine cards to create tool cards, place the tools at fixed points in the story scene, and press Play to watch the characters interact with them. Different tools lead to absurd variations of familiar fairytale events, while the key story milestones continue to pull the narrative back toward the original script.

My Contributions

- Participated in theme interpretation and gameplay ideation

- Helped scope the original open-ended concept into a controllable MVP

- Participated in GitHub collaboration, configuration debugging and final build preparation

Known Limitations

Due to the 72-hour development constraint, the final build prioritised the complete five-part gameplay flow over visual polish. Character animation variety, UI presentation, menu functions and audio feedback remain areas for further improvement.
